He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Dayton, and his medical degree from Western Reserve University in 1943. During WWII, First Lieutenant, then Captain. Ralph Lohrey served in the U. S. Army Medical Corps, stationed at Fort Lewis in Washington State Dr. Lohrey began practicing as a pediatrician in 1948, with the group of doctors who later built the Euclid and Mentor Clinics and the Euclid General Hospital.  Throughout his career he volunteered at the Salvation Army’s Booth Memorial Hospital. Dr. Lohrey worked with Drs. Sunshine and Hermann to found the Cleveland Poison Control Center, modeled after the first such poison center which had been started in Chicago. The committee of the Academy of Pediatrics lectured and promoted legislation which improved child safety. After retiring from Euclid Mednet, in 1980, he worked with the Euclid Public Schools through 1986.

His wife, Martha Campbell Lohrey died in 2007.  He will be missed by his daughters: Beverly(Judson) Elliott, Suzanne (Doug) Eder, and Nancy Lohrey;  grandchildren: Karin (Tracy) Marsh, Kim (Marty) Greene, Kelly(Eric Hess) Thompson-Hess, Dana Eder (Aaron Porter), Scott Eder, and great grandchildren: Alex Marsh, Ben Marsh, Aidan Marsh, Abbie Greene, Molly Greene, Danny Greene, and Kayla Thompson.

His memorial service will be at the Church of the Covenant, 11205 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, OH on July 18, at 3:30 PM.  Donations to the Salvation Army will be appreciated in lieu of flowers.

Jane Ashby, 87, of Wildwood Florida, formally of Wickliffe Ohio, passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2009 . She was a retired office manager, a charter member of Faith Presbyterian Church, Order of the Eastern Star of Wildwood, Lake County Quilting Club and a volunteer at the Arbor Village Nursing Home for over 15 years. She loved family,friends,and golfing . She is survived by her three sons, Herb (Ellamae), Glenn (Linda), Douglas JoAnn; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. PAUL HINK, husband of 53 years of Donna (nee Conrad,) father of Tom Hink and Ellen (Pat) Jones , grandfather of Ricky and Ryan, brother of John (Masako), Delores (Ed) Kliever, Kenneth (Kathleen) and the following deceased: Harold, Howard, Ethyl, Hazel, Lawrence, Walter, Ralph, Melvin and two unnamed infants. 

Paul graduated from Lutheran High School in 1952, then attended Condordia College in Fort Wayne, Indiana and Concordia Seminary in Springfield, Illinois.  He graduated from Concordia Teachers College, River Forest in 1961.  Paul's post-baccalaureate studies were at St. John College from 1967-1969 and at Kent State in 1977.

Paul's long record of service began at Holy Trinity School in Bridgeview, Illinois, where he taught grades 4-8 and served as principal from 1955-1957; St. John Nottingham School, teaching grades 4 & 6 and serving as principal  from 1957-1963; Cleveland Public Schools, teaching grades 4 & 6 science from 1963-1979; Bethlehem DCE as principal and teacher of grades 3&4 from 1979-1981, and was integral in the formation of West Park Lutheran School, serving as the school's principal and teaching science from 1981 until his retirement in 1995.

William R.
